My process begins with figurative studies, but by repeatedly painting the same motifs, the images gradually develop into more abstract movements, charged with an alienating tension. By allowing myself to be guided by intuition and responding to the often unpredictable reactions of the material, I arrive at results that I could not have visualised beforehand.

I draw inspiration from my immediate surroundings, which causes my work to change along with periods of living and working in different locations. I explore what I discover in new environments through drawing. For me, drawing is a method of studying something with complete attention and capturing every detail — not only on paper, but also in my memory.

The drawing and the memory form the starting point for the painting, without looking back at the original image. Each new image is an echo of the previous image, creating a chain reaction that begins with the motif, which is further distorted with each step by subjective experience, with the paint as mediator.

Reflections on shared reality are deliberately filtered through the lens of individual perception. Rather than directly addressing worldly themes, my work speaks in a phenomenological way about personal ambiguity. This ambiguity is approached with reverence and made tangible in paint.
